Good Day

Yesterday's weight: 241.5#
Today's weight: 240#
I guess I'm getting used to drinking this much water. I actually start wanting it, so maybe my thirst mechanism is coming back. Is there such a thing as a thirst mechanism?? Problem is, I hate having to pee all the time!
I managed to stay under 2000 calories today. 2000 calories sounds like a lot of food. So why do I feel like I'm starving??

The good thing about being able to get addicted to just about anything, is that one can learn to crave good stuff too.

I switched from coffee to high quality green tea some months ago. Not only is the stuff extremely healthy, energizing and even has mildly euphoric effect (depending on which brand you use) but it also dampens the sense of hunger.

If it's ok with you, I'd be happy to post the recipe for a soup. I haven't tried it myself, but it's become extremely popular around these parts, because the more you eat of it, the more fat it burns.

Amanda,
I'd be glad for you to post the soup recipe--thanks.
Which brand of green tea has the euphoric affects? I can tolerate green tea, but most of the time I think it tastes like koala urine. Not that I've drunk koala urine, mind!
I still love good coffee--decaf, usually. I buy mine from the Coffee Fool. I only drink a couple cups a day--better than chowing down on a bunch of those bite size candies!

The one I drink is called "Wu Lu". I buy it loose from the local tea grocer, but I googled it and it seems you can order online too (exemplary link below).

I boil about 32 oz of water, and then I let it cool off for about 3-4 min.
In the meanwhile I put about 3 tablespoons of the tea in one of those paper tea filters.
I pour the water and let the tea steep for about 3 min.
When I take out the used filter, I put it in a clean bowl, because I can reuse it again later in the day if I need to, but I rarely do, once a day is usually enough.
Then I pour the tea in a thermos I use only for tea, to keep it warm.

You know you did it right, if the tea is a bit green/light brown when you pour it, and is strong enough to make your mouth feel kind of dry, but it's NOT bitter. If it's bitter and/or a very dark brown color, just toss it out and reuse the filter. The slightly euphoric feeling should last several hours...

I can still drink a cup of coffee now and then, but I don't miss it nor crave it anymore like I used to, this stuff works sooo much better. :)

I'll put the soup recipe in another comment.

The Soup

6 green onions
1 or 2 cans of tomatoes
2 green peppers
1 little white cabbage
some carrots
parsley
2 packs of dry onion soup mix
salt
pepper
curry
chili

Dice vegetables. Boil in some water for about 10 min. then set heat on low. Flavor according to taste. (Though I suspect the hotter the better.)

Obligatory disclaimer:

This soup has practically no calories. You can eat as much as you want. On the downside, it has very little nutritional value, so do not forget to eat enough protein, or your will end up losing muscle mass instead of fat.

Amanda,
Thanks so much--great info!
I tend to eat adequate protein at meals, so what I'm really looking for is something to trick me into thinking I'm eating between meals. This soup may just do the trick!
